Connor Carlson and I led a team of four as part of the University of Oregon's chapter of Design for America. We choose to pursue the topic of Sustainable Footwear for the Homeless in Eugene, Oregon. To jump-start our project, I applied for and received a grant from our school's Sustainability Coalition.

This project focused on the research side of human centered design. Our research covered material, climate, human anatomy, talking to homeless residents and shelters in Eugene, and much more.  By the end we thoroughly understood our topic and the lengths one should go for effective design.
